Public Safety & Crime Trends

  • Year-over-year reduction in crime from 2022 through 2025, with continued improvements in 2026.

  • Significant decreases in burglary, vehicle theft, larceny-theft, arson, and homicides.

  • Continued investment in patrol staffing, technology, and enforcement strategies in coordination with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

  • Added 8 sworn deputy positions across recent years to improve patrol coverage.

  • Added a new Fire Medic Squad consisting of 6 firefighters and a new emergency response vehicle.

Economic Development & Health Investments

  • Dozens of new businesses opened citywide since 2022 across retail, food service, healthcare, and logistics sectors.

  • Major openings include Sprouts, Raising Cane’s, Cava, Kalaveras, 85°C Bakery Café, Crumbl Cookies, Chipotle, and many more on Moreno Beach Drive.

  • Riverside University Health System hospital on Cactus Boulevard was awarded $184 million in Proposition 1 funding to build a new Wellness Center in collaboration with the City, expanding behavioral and community health services.

Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities

  • Santiago Park opened as the city’s newest park.

  • New basketball courts were constructed at Patriot Park.

  • The Flight Deck Bike Park, one of the largest bicycle pump tracks in Southern California, opened near Morrison Park.

  • Robert Garcia Boxing Academy and the Robert Garcia Youth Foundation opened at the Moreno Valley Mall, expanding youth athletic and mentoring opportunities.

  • The City completed its Parks Rehabilitation and Refurbishment Program, investing over $6 million to improve and upgrade parks across all City Council districts.

  • New dog park opening at Gateway Park.

Libraries, Arts & Culture

  • New District 2 (Sunnymead Ranch) Library is under construction and scheduled to open in 2026.

  • The City’s first museum and immersive art museum is scheduled to open in 2026 at Anthem Mall.

  • Expansion of public art, murals, and cultural programming throughout the city.

  • Opening of the District 2 Library.

  • Opening of Moreno Valley’s first museum and immersive art museum.
